The Domestic Violence in Puerto Rico (DVPR) project has collected this data on a globally accessible platform to raise awareness and funding for domestic violence shelters in Puerto Rico. These shelters house domestic violence victims with the provision of temporary stays and referral to transitional housing. Originally, Puerto Rico had 11 domestic violence shelters. Volunteers, research assistants and project supervisors work tirelessly to ensure this issue should be heard nationally and globally.
